Introduction The Workshop on Biomedical Image Registration aims to bring together leading researchers in the area of biomedical image registration to present and discuss recent developments in the field. The format of the two-day workshop will include both oral and poster presentations and offers opportunities for discussion. Previous WBIRs took place in Bled, Slovenia (1999), at the University of Pennsylvania, USA (2003) and in Utrecht, The Netherlands (2006).The workshop is supported by the division of the german society for informatics (GI).
